Both the Year 7 and 8 students had great experiences during activity week and at Totara Springs Camp at the end of last Term. It’s experiences like these, that are highlights of the children’s year. It was very rewarding to see all children grow as individuals, takes risks, and enjoy education outside of the classroom.
This Term’s inquiry focus is titled, ‘How Things Work’, with a strong Science and Mathematical focus. The students will be following the scientific process to carry out a range of different scientific experiments. The students own inquiries will be based around the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) model. STEAM is a rich, authentic and rigorous learning model through an engineering project as a form of inquiry. It promotes the 21st century 4Cs of lifelong and lifewide learners, e.g: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration.
So many cool learning experiences for our year 7 and 8's this term!
